Minna no Nihongo: Chukyu 1 (Intermediate) – Main Textbook
Minna no Nihongo is probably the most famous series of Japanese language study guides, used widely in universities, language schools, and privately around the world. The original Shokyu (upper-beginner level) books were so popular when they first came out in 1998 that the publishers were hounded to expand them into a full series. This Chukyu book is the “sequel” to the originals and was created for students of an intermediate-to upper-intermediate level. It has now become just as much of a universal staple study guide as the first books. The reason why the Minna no Nihongo series is so popular is that it covers all areas of Japanese learning, with grammar, speaking, listening, reading (including kanji), and writing practice.
