The End of the World with Shiba Inu Volume 2
The second volume of this comedy manga continues the story of a high-school-age girl and her adorable Shiba Inu named Haru, as they roam the ruins of a post-apocalyptic Japan while discussing topics such as psychology, philosophy, and animal science.
The comics collected in this series use a variation of the yonkoma āfour-cellā format -- a single-page style of Japanese comic strips that often end with a joke or punchline. Author YÅ« Ishihara famously published his yonkoma comic strips along with real-life photos of his own Shiba Inu on Twitter, amassing over 150,000 followers.
In Volume 2, Haru and his Master interact with new animals and mythological characters along their journey, including a powerful and malevolent Anubis whose mission is to liberate all dogs on Earth. The pair also encounter many old friends -- like the elderly alien couple who create a robotic A.I. clone of Haru, and the various dog breeds each with their own distinct personalities.
Both manga lovers and dog lovers will enjoy this cute and funny series full of eastern and western pop culture references, adorable pets, and lots of chubby cheek squeezing.
